Kidney Sale Fraud: Police Gets Vital Leads From Accused

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today claimed to have been successful in obtaining vital leads from Himanshu Bhusan Nanda, the youth arrested for duping patients with kidney ailments on the pretext of arranging donors.

“We have obtained several vital information but these need to be verified. As the remand period in the case registered at Nayapalli police station ended we produced him before the court and he has been sent to judicial custody,” informed Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash here today.

Dash said that they will again get Nanda on remand in connection with the case registered against him at Laxmisagar police station.

He said they will be taking assistance of forensic experts to get into information stored in the computer as per provisions of the IT Act.

Police had taken Nanda on a three-day remand on Saturday.

Nanda was arrested on Tuesday last for allegedly duping lakhs of rupees from kidney ailment patients on the pretext of arranging donors.

Nanda, aged 32, happens to be a resident of Nuapatna in Pattamundai of Kendrapara district and had been staying in Pipili and had also worked at a private hospital in the Capital city in the past.
