**Bhubaneswar:** A day after various government agencies attended a preparedness meeting to counter the heat wave situation in Odisha, OMMCOM NEWS reached out to authorities of Capital Hospital to know the arrangements for treatment of heat stroke patients.
Capital Hospital Superintendent Narayan Sethi informed a special ward with 10 beds, air conditioning and ice facilities, for treatment of sun stroke patients, has been established in the hospital from March 1.
Drinking water is provided to all patients on their arrival in the hospital. Besides, ORS and essential medicines are also at their disposal when needed, he added.
Sethi further said that no doctors have been allotted to the special ward as doctors of neighbouring wards will be at service of patients upon their arrival. Liquid ORS will be provided to the patients who are able to drink or else saline will be administered to them.
However, not a single patient has been admitted in the ward till date.
