Puri: The owner of a tent house was allegedly killed after a clash with a sound equipment provider during a marriage procession in Gop on Friday night.
The deceased, identified as Lipan Pradhan belonged to Erabanga village and was running a tent house business in the area. His death triggered unrest leading to the blockade of Konark – Bhubaneswar highway.

A verbal duel between the two intensified into a violent clash as the DJ/sound party members assaulted Lipan brutally. He was rushed to Gop community health centre, where Lipan succumbed.
While the marriage procession was moving from Nimapara to Balikandala village in Bedapur, locals resorted to protest and blocked the highway demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.
