Jeypore: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in Koraput district, police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly possessing contraband substances.
The accused, identified as Gopabandhu Khillo (27), a resident of Laxmipur village under Boipariguda area, was apprehended by Jeypore Town Police. He has been forwarded to court following his arrest.
The case pertains to Jeypore Town P.S. Case under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. During the operation, authorities seized the following items from the possession of the accused–6 kg 200 grams of Ganja (cannabis), 1 kg 20 grams of liquid Ganja/Hashish Oil and cash.
The estimated market value of the seized Liquid Ganja/Hashish Oil alone stands at approximately Rs. 14 lakhs.
