Bhubaneswar: Pottangi block in Odisha’s Koraput district received the highest rainfall in the state in the last 24 hours. It recorded 106 mm of rainfall under the influence of the cyclonic storm Michaung, which made landfall on the Andhra Coast on Tuesday.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the state received an average rainfall of 6.5 mm during the last 24 hours, while it recorded an average rainfall of 7.5 mm from December 1 to 6.
Meanwhile, the IMD issued an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha’s Malkangiri and Koraput districts on Wednesday. At the same time, a yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Gajapati and Ganjam districts. Ganjam and Kandhamal districts are also likely to receive light to moderate rain/ thundershowers along with other districts in south Odisha.
