Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to bolster agricultural governance and farmer empowerment in Odisha, the state government has established a Krushi Bhavan in Sambalpur district.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the facility on Sunday in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, and Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik.
Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, Pradhan said, “I am thankful to the state government, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo for the establishment of Krushi Bhavan in Sambalpur. It will play a key role in the development of the agriculture sector in the region.”
He also lauded the BJP-led government in Odisha for several recent initiatives aimed at agricultural development, including the enhancement of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.
According to Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo, Krushi Bhavan will function as a hub for policy implementation, agricultural research, and farmer-centric initiatives.
“This marks another step toward a developed Odisha and a thriving farming community,” he stated in a post on social media platform X.
He further emphasized that the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to transforming Odisha’s agricultural landscape and improving the lives of farmers.
The establishment of Krushi Bhavan in Sambalpur is being seen as a landmark step in decentralising agricultural administration and bringing governance closer to farmers in western Odisha.
