Krushi Odisha 2025: Unseasonal Rain A Natural Disaster, Announces CM Mohan Majhi

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday said announced that unseasonal rains are a natural disaster and farmers affected by it will be fully compensated from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).

Addressing the inaugural function of Krushi Odisha 2025 at Baramunda Ground in Bhubaneswar today, Majhi said that farmers who suffer more than 33 per cent crop loss due to unseasonal rain will get monetary compensation.

Referring to the unseasonal rains that hit several districts last month, the Chief Minister said that 6,66,700 farmers suffered crop damage in over 2,26,000 hectares. “The government will spend Rs 291 crore to compensate their losses,” Majhi said.
