Kusha Arlaba Becomes Odisha’s First Tribal Youth To Scale Mt Kilimanjaro

**Bhubaneswar**: Kusha Arlaba of Koraput district became the first tribal to scale the highest peak in Africa, Uhuru peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.He was accompanied by Lipika Seth of Odisha’s Bargarh district.

Both started their journey from the base camp on 21st of January this year. On the Republic Day, Kusha reached the peak of the mountain and unfurled the Tricolor at a height of 5,895 meters above the sea level at around 6:30 am.

Lipika followed suit and reached the peak at 7 am to unfurl the flag of India. Sharing their experience at the summit, both mountaineers were proud and stated that the weather condition was not at all conducive, with heavy wind at the top of the mountain.

Kusha had the backing of ‘Bhubaneswar School Of Adventures’ whereas Lipika was supported by the local MP and a private firm. Both the mountaineers will reach Bhubaneswar airport on 30th of January.

The duo plan to scale Europe’s Mt Elbrush in July and South America’s Mt Aconcagua in the December this year.
