Labourer Killed After Falling From Under-Construction Building At SB Women’s College

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a young labourer died after falling from the sixth floor of an under-construction building at Sailabala Women’s College in Cuttack.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Sanjay Kumar, a labourer, is a resident of Bihar. He was engaged in rod binding work on the sixth floor of the building. Due to a lack of awareness or a momentary lapse, he fell from a height of around 100 feet. He sustained grievous injuries to his head and other body parts. He was immediately rushed to City Hospital, Cuttack, where doctors declared him brought dead.

A team of police from the Cantonment police station reached the spot and seized the body before sending it to SCB Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police also informed the family members of the deceased labourer.

According to the police, the body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem, which is expected to be completed tomorrow.
