Jharsuguda: A labourer sustained severe burn injuries while working at SMC Power Generation Ltd in Jharsuguda on Sunday night. The labourer has been identified as Mahabir Majhi.
Reportedly, Majhi was working at the blast furnace of the plant when a hot iron ingot fell on him. He was immediately rushed to Burla hospital from where he was shifted to IGH, Rourkela.
Majhi has sustained around 70 percent injuries on his body. Following the accident, the workers have alleged that safety rules are not being followed in the factory.
