Bolangir: Bolangir police have finally nabbed Govind Sahu, the prime accused in the lady teacher Mamita Meher missing case.
Sahu was apprehended while he was hiding in a sugarcane field in Budhipadar village under Bangomunda block of Bolangir district.
Sahu’s arrest has been confirmed by Bolangir SP Kusalkar Nitin Dagdu in a tweet.

Sahu, President of Sunshine School Management Committee who was detained by the Titlagarh police for five days had managed to escape from the barrack on Sunday.
In yet another development earlier in the day, family members of Mamita Meher have confirmed to the police that the gold chain, anklet bag found from the spot where a burnt body was exhumed belonged to Mamita.
Mamita Meher, a teacher of Sunshine English Medium School in Mahaling of Kalahandi district has been missing for 11 days.
Today a body was recovered from the site of the under-construction stadium at Mahaling. Sahu is the contractor for the construction of the stadium.
Suspecting Mamita was murdered and buried in the Mahaling High School Stadium, police today dug out a charred body from the site.
Police had detained Sahu after an FIR was lodged against him by Mamita’s brother Bunty, who had alleged that Sahu was operating a sex racket in the school which his sister had vehemently opposed and threatened to expose.
Sahu, however, managed to escape from Titlagarh police barrack on Sunday.
Sindhekela police had seized a car reportedly registered in Sahu’s name.
Bolangir SP had issued a reward of Rs One lakh for any possible leads on Sahu.
