Khordha: In a horrific incident, a group of villagers of Jhansipatna on Friday set ablaze the house of one Jalandhar Pradhan in Gobardhanpur Colony under Bhusandapur police limits of Khordha district.
According to reports, claiming the land on which Jalandhar’s house stood to be in the cremation ground category, a group of villagers of Jhansipatna allegedly in a bid to evict him from the land before setting the house afire demolished its boundary wall and plugged the well.
Jalandhar’s wife Guni Pradhan has reported the matter to the Bhusandapur police.
Later, Fire Service team from Tangi rushed to the spot and doused the blaze. However, by then all had been reduced to ashes.
Jalandhar’s son, daughter and wife have been injured in the incident. They have been rushed to the nearest hospital by 108 Ambulance Service.
