Paralakhemundi: Paralakhemundi town was shaken on Saturday following a shocking acid attack on advocate T. Rama Rao in his home.
According to initial reports, around 4:30 pm, two helmet wearing miscreants arrived at Rao’s residence in Jangam Sahi, knocked on his door, and threw acid on him as he opened it.
The attackers, both wearing helmets to conceal their identities, quickly fled the scene on a two-wheeler.
Hearing Rao’s cries for help, neighbours rushed to his aid and transported him to the Paralakhemundi hospital.
Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to a private hospital in Visakhapatnam for further treatment.
At the time of the incident, Rao’s family members were not at home.
Police have since arrived at the scene and launched an investigation, exploring various angles, including any possible past disputes.
