Jeypore: In view of the heavy rain prediction, the Koraput district administration has cancelled leaves of all government employees until September 28. A notification has been issued, warning government staff of strict action in case of deviation.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure system is likely to form and intensify into a depression, crossing the South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts around September 27, 2025. Heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning are predicted in several places in Koraput district.

All government officials and staff are directed to report back to their respective headquarters immediately and are not allowed to leave without permission until September 28, the notification stated. Any deviation from these instructions will be viewed seriously, and strict action will be taken, it added.
