Bhubaneswar: Nabarangpur district administration has cancelled leaves of all government employees in view of heavy rain predicted by the IMD in the district due to a low-pressure area brewing in the Bay of Bengal.

The employees have been asked not to leave headquarters until further notice, with any deviation from the order to be viewed strictly.

The low-pressure system is expected to intensify into a depression by September 26 and cross North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha on September 27. Nabarangpur district is likely to be severely affected, with heavy rainfall predicted.

The district administration’s decision aims to ensure effective disaster management and public safety during the anticipated heavy rainfall.
