Bhubaneswar: To further expand the work of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, LED video walls have been made operational in 58 subdivisions of the State today.
Inaugurating the video wall at the conference hall of the Krushi Bhavan on Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo said that this initiative of the Agriculture Department is the first of its kind in India for dissemination of information from the Department to the farmers.
Singh Deo congratulated the Principal Secretary, all Directors and officers of the department for such an innovative initiative. Farmers can learn about all the welfare schemes of the Department, all the updated information related to farming and available facilities through this video wall. He requested all the farmers of the state to take advantage of this.
While stating that the implementation of this video wall has increased the responsibilities of the Department, Singh Deo urged the State, district and all divisional-level officials to become more careful in this direction and usher in big changes in the agriculture sector.
On the occasion of the inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo interacted with the farmers from various subdivisions through videoconferencing and inquired whether they were benefiting from the schemes of the government. He discussed with the farmers of Cuttack, Nayagarh, Bhubaneswar and Patnagarh through video conferencing.
At the outset, Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee welcomed the Minister to the inauguration ceremony and briefed the Minister about the purpose of installing the LED video wall and its benefits.
While Agriculture Director Prem Chandra Chaudhary gave the welcome speech Secretary Dr Padhee offered the vote of thanks.
All officers of the Department, the private secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister and other officers and employees were present in this programme.
