Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida today announced that eligible women who were previously left out of the Subhadra scheme will soon receive benefits. The scheme, aimed at empowering women through financial support, has faced issues with some genuine beneficiaries being excluded due to technical reasons.
“Many eligible women beneficiaries have been deprived of financial support under the Subhadra scheme due to technical reasons. We are examining factors such as ration cards, updated KYC, and other details to ensure genuine beneficiaries are not left out”, said Parida after a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Prior to the meeting, the Women and Child Development Department had sought reports from three key departments. These departments include Commerce and Transport, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, and Health.
The Transport Department was asked to share details of women owning four-wheelers, while the Health Department was tasked with verifying the list of deceased beneficiaries. Similarly, the Food Supplies Department was asked to check the land records of women who had sold paddy.
On basis of the reports submitted by these departments, Parida presided over the review meeting and discussed measures to include the left-out eligible women under the Subhadra scheme.
Parida, meanwhile, assured that after proper verification of the reports, the deprived beneficiaries will be added to the scheme.
