Malkangiri: A video purportedly of Mahesh Baka, son of Chitrakonda MLA Purna Chandra Baka administering an oath to villagers in a village in Badadural gram panchayat under Khairput block of Malkangiri district to vote in favour of one Bhikari Kirsani, a Sarpanch candidate has gone viral.
Mahesh, who is himself contesting as a Samiti Member candidate in Nayakguda gram panchayat under Mathili block is heard administering the oath in the name of God. In the oath, villagers are heard saying that they will make Bhikari Kirsani victorious and if they violate the oath they shall be punished by God.
The BJP has raised its objection to the oath administered by Baka.
Addressing a press meet, spokesperson of BJP for Malkangiri district Ashok Kumar Parida has raised serious objection on the matter.
Parida has drawn the attention of the district administration to the matter and has termed it as unfair.
