Bargarh: In yet another incident of man-animal conflict, a leopard reportedly died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Tuesday evening.
According to reports, some people passing through the road in Barapahad forest under the Ambabhona block of the district last evening spotted a leopard lying dead on the road and informed the Forest Department officials about it.
It is assumed that the leopard died after being hit by an unknown vehicle. Forest Department, however, does not rule out the involvement of the hunters behind the leopard’s death. They have launched an investigation into the incident after seizing the carcass of the big cat.
Meanwhile, locals claimed that the several wild animals inhabit the Barapahad forest and they often cross the road running inside it.
