Bhubaneswar: A leopard was found trapped in a poacher’s snare in Angul district’s Karatapata Forest Section on Tuesday, triggering a swift response from the Forest Department.
According to reports, the leopard was trapped in the snare set by poachers targeting wild boars on Monday night. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when locals heard the leopard’s distress calls and informed the Forest Department.
The leopard was spotted using a drone camera, prompting Forest officials to immediately deploy to the scene. The rescue operation was carried out by a team of forest officials, veterinarians, and experts, who worked tirelessly to ensure the safe release of the leopard.
