Bhubaneswar: The authorities of Maa Samaleswari temple in Sambalpur today were amused to find a love letter from the temple Hundi (Donation box) when they opened it for the counting of the devotees’ donations.
The letter, reportedly written by a young woman named Barsha prayed the revered goddess to get her married with the love of her life named Kanha with everyone’s consent.
Barsha wrote that she loves very much Kanha wants to marry him. Both of them will come together to the temple and have darshan of the deity once their marriage was solemnized, she prayed in the letter.
The letter also mentioned how much she loves Kahnha.
This is not the first instance. Last year, the temple officials also found a similar letter believed to be written by a young woman praying to the deity for success in her love. Two other letters of different kinds were also found from the donation box last time. The letters sought blessings of the goddess for success in competitive examinations.
Letters are found from the donation box in different times. The temple trust board says these letters are attached with the emotions of devotees. The letters found from the Hundi have been kept in the trust b board office and will be offered to the deity later.
