Bhubaneswar: In a swift response, lifeguards at Puri’s Swargadwar beach saved the lives of five tourists while being swept were swept away by strong waves in Sector 10.
According to reports, a massive wave crashed ashore, engulfing five tourists in its deadly grip, sweeping away four tourists from Chhattisgarh and one tourist from Maharashtra. But in a heart-stopping rescue, lifeguards sprang into action, diving into the raging sea to snatch the tourists from the jaws of danger.
The rescued tourists are Swati Kanoji, Bhavan Kanoji, Shikha Kanoji, Khageshwar Kanoji from Chhattisgarh, and Krishna Kanoji from Maharashtra. After receiving first aid, all five were reported to be safe and sound.
The tourists were rescued by lifeguards Mahendra Behera, A Bhagaban, KD Behera, and P Tirupati.
