Light And Sound Show Trial At Konark Sun Temple Successful, Facility For Tourists Soon
**Puri: ** The much-awaited light and sound show at the historic monument and world-renowned Sun Temple at Konark here in the district is going to be facilitated to the tourists soon as its trial show was successful on Friday.
The trial show was of 35-minute-duration.
The two hours long show at the heritage site will be presented in three languages to 250 visitors at one go. While Bollywood star Sekhar Suman has done the voiceover of the script in Hindi, English voiceover is by another Bollywood veteran Kabir Bedi and Odia voiceover is by Ollywood veteran Bijay Mohanty, sources said.
As per official sources, eight high definition projectors will be used for the light and sound show using laser technology.
ITDC officials informed that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) recommended against installation of speakers in the inner courtyard following which headphones will be provided to the audiences to enjoy the scintillating show.
ASI is the custodian of the monument’s conservation.
Notably, Odisha Government in 2014 had inked an agreement for the light and sound project and the Tourism and Culture Department had released Rs 4.56 crore to the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) for the purpose.
The mesmerising light and sound show has already been effected in Dhauli (Tower of Peace) and now the 13th-century Black Pagoda will follow the suit.
