Bhubaneswar: The State is likely to get respite from the hot weather conditions that prevailed for the last two days as the Meteorological Department predicted light rain in several parts of Odisha from today.
Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in several districts till February 28, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
“Light rain/thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Jajpur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha on Thirsday.
Similarly, districts like Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada and some parts of coastal Odisha will experience light rain.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj on February 23. A yellow alert has been issued for these districts.
The IMD predicted no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 04-05 days.
The maximum and minimum temperature is very likely to be around 36 Degrees C and 23 Degrees C respectively in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.4°C while the lowest minimum temperature of 15.5°C was recorded at Phulbani on Thursday.
