Lightning And Moderate Rain To Affect Five Odisha Districts In Next Three Hours: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several districts in Odisha, predicting light to moderate rain and thundershowers with lightning to affect some parts of the region within the next three hours.

According to the IMD report, the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nayagarh, and Keonjhar are likely to be affected by the inclement weather. The department has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

The alert has been issued to ensure public safety, as lightning can be deadly and cause significant damage. Residents in the affected districts are advised to take necessary precautions and stay indoors during lightning strikes.

It is pertinent to mention that in the past two days, 16 people have been killed by lightning strikes across several districts of Odisha.
