Khurda: A 56-year-old farmer, Gangadhar Parida was killed due to a lightning strike here today evening. He was a native of Sarua village under Baghamari police limits.
According to reports, Parida was working in his farm when the mishap took place at around 5 pm. Other farmers working nearby rushed him to the local hospital.
Parida was declared brought dead at the hospital. Local police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body of the deceased for autopsy.
