Bhubaneswar: A youth died after being struck by lightning at Danta village under Banai police station in Sundargarh district on Friday evening.
The incident occurred when Mananta Mundari was grazing cattle during a sudden thunderstorm. Villagers called an 108 ambulance, but the ambulance couldn’t reach the spot due to poor road conditions.
The medical team had to walk three kilometres and carry him on a stretcher, facing challenges crossing a swollen stream. He was declared dead at Sarasara Hospital.
