Khurda: At least six persons were injured in a lightning strike in Nirakarpur, here on Friday afternoon. All of them are undergoing treatment at Khurda district headquarters hospital.
It is worth noting that on Friday afternoon, due to sudden heavy lightning, locals in the area were petrified and rushed into their houses.
At that time, a group of children were studying at a coaching center near Nirakarpur College road. According to eye witnesses, lightning struck a tree first and then impacted the coaching centre.
At least six students, and their tutor sustained injuries in the incident. As per reports, all of them have recovered well.
