Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister, Prabhati Parida, suggested the women who haven’t received funds under the Subhadra scheme, despite applying. The scheme, launched in May 2024, aims to empower married women economically by providing them with financial assistance of Rs 50,000 in five years.
However, many women have been left disappointed, with around 5 lakh applicants struggling due to unlinked bank accounts and lack of coordination between bank accounts, Aadhaar, and mobile numbers. Parida stepped out to resolve their issues. Her solution is simple: link one mobile number to one account. She urges applicants to visit their banks and resolve this issue to receive the benefits.
To ensure no one is left behind, the government team will visit villages after March 24 to verify and address any remaining issues. Anganwadi workers will also play a crucial role in personally verifying the applications.
The government is expected to bring relief and empowerment for women with the new policy.
