Bhubaneswar: Lion ‘Krish’ died of old age today in Nandankanan Zoo in Bhubaneswar. The animal was 20 years, 1 month 28 days old. Its health had deteriorated since last July 26. It had become weak and eating less.
The animal was undergoing treatment. But in the last few weeks, Krish was not able to stand. Despite the best efforts of the veterinarians, Krish’s health did not improve. It died at around 9 AM on Wednesday.
Krish, a male hybrid lion, was born in Nandankanan in June 2004.
