Liquor Baron Torches 3 Excise Vehicles In Nayagarh
**Nayagarh:** Three vehicles, parked on the premises of District Excise Office, were torched by a peeved local liquor baron on Tuesday night.
A Bolero, a Commander jeep and a bike have been set ablaze.
Fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the flame.
Till the filing of the report, no FIR had been filed by the District Excise Office while the miscreant was absconding.
The Town Police has suo motu registered a case and have launched a manhunt to nab the fleeing miscreant.
Even though the exact motive behind such vandalism is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected to be the handiwork of the irate liquor shop owner irked at the raid conducted by the Excise sleuths on Tuesday.
Narayan Chandra Barik, IIC, Nayagarh Town Police Station told media on Wednesday, “A Bolero car, a Commander jeep and a motorcycle have been torched after last midnight. Being informed, police immediately rushed there. Fire tenders were also called for. As per prima facie, a liquor trader of Nayagarh has committed this illegal act and absconding. Police is after him. No FIR has been filed by the Excise Office. Police have suo motu registered FIR and investigating into the case.”
