Livestock Inspector Gets 3 Yrs RI For Corruption

Bhubaneswar: A Special Vigilance Court in Bhawanipatna on Thursday sentenced Daitari Charan Nahak, Livestock Inspector (LI)in the office of the SDVO Dharmagarh in Kalahandi district to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for three years and pay a fine of Rs 20,000 after convicting him for demanding and taking bribe.

Nahak was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) and of 7 PC Act, 1988 for demanding and taking bribe from a complainant to process the file and forward the evaluation report of his dairy farm for grant of Agro Enterprise Capital Investment subsidy in his favour in respect of the loan availed by him.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Nahak following his conviction.
