Bhubaneswar: A youth was killed in a road mishap after being run over by a truck near a plant site under Bansapal block in Keonjhar district in the wee hours of Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Dehuri of Bininda village.
Santosh was the lone earning person of his family. He was run over by the 14-wheeler truck near a private plant at Rayagoda panchayat under Bansapal block when he was on his way home. Santosh died on the spot.
Tension ran high at the locality following the death of Santosh with irate locals setting the truck afire. However, the truck driver managed to flee the scene.
Upon being informed, Sadar police reached the spot and pacified the enraged locals. Later, police sent the body of Santosh for post-mortem.
