Bhubaneswar: Upto 50 per cent of officers or staff are to attend office on roster basis in order to attend the essential work in the 15 departments of Odisha Government classified as Critical on Saturday, with regards to COVID-19 management.
Following the extension of the nationwide lockdown, the General Administration & Public Grievance Department of the State Government reviewed the situation and issued an order classifying some Departments as Critical and Partially Critical.
The departments classified as Critical are Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Commerce & Transport, Co-operation, Excise, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Finance, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare, General Administration & Public Grievance, Housing & Urban Development, Health & Family Welfare, Home, Labour & Employees’ State Insurance, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, Revenue & Disaster Management and Steel & Mines.
These departments are to function with 50 per cent staff in order to attend the essential work. Administrative Departments will decide about the scale of operation in the field offices, in alignment with guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
All other departments have been classified as Partially Critical where upto 30 per cent of officers or staff are to attend office on roster basis. The order further read, “Administrative Departments may allow Corporations/ Agencies/ PSUs under their administrative control, engaged in handling essential goods & services and other critical activities like mining, agriculture procurement, industrial development, forest plantation and maintenance, procurement of minor forest produce, beverages etc, to operate at 100% capacity.”
All the employees of the State Government, who are not attending office, will work from home. This order will be effective from May 4, 2020 till end of the third phase lockdown on May 17, 2020.
