Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials today apprehended Inspector-In-Charge of Loisingha police station in Bolangir district Sangram Keshri Pattnaik while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a licenced foreign liquor shop owner.
According to a press note issued by the Vigilance, accused Patnaik had taken the bribe from the foreign liquor shop owner to not take any adverse action against him and his liquor business.
The entire bribe amount of Rs 20,000 has been recovered from Patnaik and seized, the press note added.
A case has been registered against Patnaik by the Sambalpur Vigilance under section 7 of the PC Amendment Act of 2018.
A further investigation against Patnaik is underway, the press note said.
