Bhubaneswar: A single positive case of COVID-19 was reported in Odisha on Friday. According to the I&PR Department, the lone case of coronavirus was detected in Sambalpur.
On Friday, more than 19,000 samples were tested out of which one person tested positive for COVID, at a negligible test positivity rate (TPR). There are 85 active cases in the State as of Saturday.
It is for the first time over the last two years when Odisha reported a single case of COVID-19. The first case was detected in the State on March 16, 2020, when an Italy-returnee student’s sample tested positive for COVID.
On the other hand, the death tally was steady at 9,124 with no fatalities over the last 3 days. The last COVID casualty was reported on April 20. During this month, total 3 persons have died due to COVID in Odisha.
