Lookout Notice Against Noted Businessman Mahimananda Mishra Over Murder Case

**Paradeep: ** A lookout notice has been issued against Odisha’s Noted Businessman and Odisha Stevedores Limited MD- Mahimananda Mishra in a murder case that took place in Paradeep on 26th of last month.

The lookout notice was issued by police on 28th of October apprehending that Mahimananda Mishra might escape abroad and not cooperate in the police investigation. Apart from Mahimananda lookout notices have also been issued against the three other employees of OSL who have been named as accused in the FIR filed by the deceased’s brother.

According to top police sources Mahimananda Mishra will be questioned soon by police in the murder case, but the police is first zeroing in on the contractual killers who carried out the murder at Paradip. According to police sources Mahimananda Mishra will be questioned immediately after the contractual killers are arrested which the police claim would be happening soon.

Notably, known businessman and Managing Director of Odisha Stevedores Limited ( OSL) Mahimananda Mishra has been booked in a murder case by Paradip police.

On 26th of October, the General Manager of Seaways and Logistics Limited (SSLL) Mahendra Swain was shot dead by hired goons. The slain GM”s brother Raj Kishore Swain had lodged an FIR in Paradip police station that he suspected the role of Mahimananda Mishra and three of his employees in OSL involvement behind the murder of his brother.

Basing on the FIR police has registered a case of murder against Mahimananda and his three employees- Basant Kumar Bal, Subash Acharya and Devi Tripathy.

Police sources had said that their priority now was to arrest the hired goons involved in the murder and after that basing on the links establish Mahimananda and the three others named in FIR might be arrested.

As per the FIR, murder is likely due to business rivalry between OSL and SSLL over stevedoring operation in Paradip port since last year as many big companies like JSPL and SAIL had engaged SSLL for handling their cargo from port harbour to rail rakes. SSLL had got the contract through global tender. But its rival Stevedoring company (OSL) in Paradip was opposing SSLL and were threatening its GM since long for which he had sought police protection.
