Bhubaneswar: Naveen Patnaik, Leader of Opposition and former Odisha Chief Minister, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Padma Shri awardee and eminent historian Prof historian Prof Hermann Kulke.
In a social media post, Patnaik described Kulke’s death as a ‘profound loss to the world of history and Indology’.
Patnaik highlighted Kulke’s significant contributions, particularly his leadership of the Orissa Research Project and pioneering research on Odisha’s culture, history, and Shree Jagannatha tradition, which brought global recognition to the state’s rich heritage.
The Opposition Leader extended his thoughts and prayers to Kulke’s family and admirers, wishing his soul rest in peace.
