Bhubaneswar: The ornaments of Lord Jagannath will be shifted from the temporary strong rooms to the permanent Ratna Bhandar on September 23.
The shifting will take place during the auspicious moment (Amruta Bela), between 7 am and 11 am. Only Palia Sevayat will be deployed for this task, and necessary lighting arrangements will be made beforehand. It was informed by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, after a meeting of the Management Committee.
During the shifting, the Nata Mandap will be closed, but rituals will not be affected. General darshan may be affected on the same day. If the shifting is not completed on September 23, it will continue on September 24, he added. Padhee informed that a magistrate will be present during the shifting to ensure a smooth process.
After the ornaments are stored in the permanent Ratna Bhandar, the lock will be secured, and the key will be deposited in the treasury. The inventory of the valuables will be finalised by the temple management.
