Bhubaneswar: A shocking incident has rocked the Naugaan College in Jagatsinghpur district, where a young couple, both students of the college, took an extreme step by consuming poison together on the college premises. The couple, who were in their third year of +3 at Sri Jagannath College, at Naugaan had been in a secret love affair, but their families were against their relationship.
According to reports, the couple had been facing immense pressure from their families to separate, which frustrated them leading to their tragic decision. The boy, hailing from Kakatpur area, and the girl, from Naugaan, had been together for some time, but their families did not approve of their relationship.
The incident occurred when the couple, unable to cope with the pressure, decided to take a drastic step. They consumed poison together on the college premises. The incident sent shockwaves throughout the institution.
Both the boy and girl were rushed to Jagatsinghpur district headquarters Hospital. However, due to their serious condition, they were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
