Bhubaneswar: A Low Pressure Area has formed over eastcentral Bay of
Bengal and neighborhood under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over the same region, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.
The system is very likely to become more marked during next 12 hours. It is likely to move west-northwestwards towards Odisha coast during next 48 hours, the IMD added.
Meanwhile, Yellow Warning of thunderstorm and heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for several districts of Odisha for the next five days.
Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, and Sundargarh during the next 24 hours.
Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada on Day 2.
Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur during the same period.
Likewise, heavy to very Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Boudh, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, and Bhadrak on Day 3.
Similar weather conditions are to prevail over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri and heavy rainfall very likely
to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Sonepur, Kandhamal, and Boudh on Day 4.
Further, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Bolangir on Day 5.
