Bhubaneswar: A Low Pressure Area formed over North Bay of Bengal on Saturday. It is likely to move west-northwestwards, become well marked during the next 12 hours, and concentrate into a depression during the subsequent 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the authorities at Hirakud dam reservoir have opened a total of 28 gates to release excess rainwater. As informed earlier in the day by Bijaya Kumar Mishra, Engineer-in-Chief, Water Resources, it may lead to minor flooding in Mahanadi river basin.
