Bhubaneswar: A Low Pressure Area has formed over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the same region, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
The weather agency further stated that the temperature is to rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius in some places of Odisha from today and heatwave conditions are to prevail in some pockets of Odisha till March 18.
In the last 24 hours, temperature equal to and above 38 degree Celsius has been recorded at 13 places in the State with the highest temperature of 39.7 degree Celsius recorded in Angul.
