Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea has gained strength and evolved into a well-marked low-pressure system. And the well-marked low-pressure area is likely to intensify into a depression in the next 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department.
As per information provided by IMD scientist Umasankar Das, this system is currently located over the south Konkan region, adjacent to the east-central Arabian Sea.
In a tweet shared on Friday, Das indicated that the well-marked low-pressure area is expected to further intensify into a depression within the next 24 hours.
“The low-pressure area formed in the Arabian Sea has intensified today and transformed into a well-marked low-pressure area over the south Konkan region adjacent to the east-central Arabian Sea. It is likely to develop into a depression in the next 24 hours”, read his tweet.
This development could bring significant weather changes to the coastal regions, with potential impacts on rainfall and wind patterns.
