Low Pressure Forms Over Bay; Light Rain, Thundershower Forecast In Coastal Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Light rain or thundershower is likely to occur in several parts of coastal Odisha in the next three days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast in its latest bulletin today.

A low pressure area has formed over East Central Bay of Bengal off Myanmar coast under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over East Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Andaman Sea. The system is likely to move towards Bangladesh coast in the next 48 hours, the IMD has said.

A trough runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with the above low pressure area to Bangladesh across North East Bay of Bengal and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Under its influence, several parts of coastal Odisha are likely to experience light rain or thundershower till November 4.

Day 1 (Valid from 8.30 AM November 1 up to 8.30 AM of November 2)
Light rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jajpur.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM November 2 up to 8.30 AM of November 3)
Light rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM November 3 up to 8.30 AM of November 4)
Light rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Ganjam and Gajapati.
