Bhubaneswar: A low press area has formed over the northeast Bay of Bengal off the Myanmar coast at 8.30 am today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday. The low pressure in the Bay of Bengal may provide some respite from the scorching heat wave prevailing in Odisha.
According to the IMD, the system is likely to become well-marked during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the regional center of the IMD on Friday issued a yellow warning for lightning and rain in 14 districts of Odisha. After the nor’wester at several places in Odisha on Thursday evening, including the capital city of Bhubaneswar, the weather was cloudy since Friday morning and strong gales, thunderstorms, and rain are likely in the evening.
The effect of Nor’wester will be experienced in the coastal districts of Odisha today.
