Low Pressure In Bay Of Bengal On May 23, Monsoon Likely To Advance Soon: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast the formation of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal on May 23. The low-pressure system is likely to form in East Central Bay of Bengal towards the end of this week, Senior Scientist and Head of IMD Bhubaneswar centre, HR Biswas said.

“We are keeping a close watch on the low-pressure system which is very likely to develop in another four to five days in the Bay of Bengal,” he said.

The IMD Scientist further said informed that the Southwest Monsoon is very likely to advance in the Andaman Sea on May 21.

“The chances of Monsoon advancing in the South Andaman Sea and the southeast Bay of Bengal is very likely to occur on Friday,” Biswas added.
