Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic circulation over westcentral Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts now lies over North Bay of Bengal off West Bengal coast between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
Under its influence a low pressure area is very likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood during next 24 hours, which is likely to become more marked and concentrate into a depression during the subsequent 48 hours.
In association with this, conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of central India and some more parts of West & northwest India during July 1 to 3.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur and Cuttack on June 29.
On June 30, heavy to very heavy rainfall to occur at few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Kendrapara. Besides, heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal and Malkangiri.
Further on July 1, heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely to occur over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sonepur and Boudh. Besides, heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Jajpur and Sundargarh, while heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over the rest districts of Odisha.
