Low Pressure Likely To Develop Over East-Central BoB In Next 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation lies over the east-central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood between 2.1 km and 5.8 km above the mean sea level, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

The Meteorological Centre added that under influence of the cyclonic circulation a low-pressure area is very likely to develop over the same region during the next 24 hours. It is likely to become more marked during the subsequent 24 hours.

The system is to trigger enhanced rainfall activity with heavy to heavy rainfall likely to occur in some districts of Odisha between October 19 and 22, informed the Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, HR Biswas.

Due to the likely formation of the low-pressure area over Central Bay of Bengal, squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely over the Central Bay of Bengal from October 19 to 22. During the period, fishermen are advised to not venture into the deep sea areas of this region.
