Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic circulation over the Northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood now extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards with and under its influence a low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours, the weather office said.
Several places in Odisha are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall under the influence of the low pressure over the Bay of Bengal. The midday weather forecast released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is as below:

Orange warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Angul.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Odisha.
